Tanur oven

Tanur is an ancient type of oven, dated back to 3.000 years BCE in Mesopotamia.
We recreate it in a modern and easy way and we bake delicious, juicy pieces of meat!

You will be welcomed with wine and appetizers by our host, Sofia where she will introduce you to the local traditional cuisine and its special flavors. Epirus cuisine is part of the culture of Greece, with its wide variety of high quality ingredients and highly beneficial combinations which embody the knowledge of centuries.
Sofia will offer you cooking lessons of signature dishes of Epirus, such as traditional pies, kusmeri, kapama and kopti, which is an ancestor of baklava, by arrangement according to your preferences. Using traditional recipes, fresh ingredients and love you will discover this region’s special cultural identity.

Ancient Greek and Byzantine Dinner

Dinner of six dishes with authentic, documented ancient Greek recipes.
  • Kykeonas (A type of drink that was drunk mainly for breakfast in ancient Greece)
  • Ancient Greek Salad with Oatmeal, Feta and Pomegranates (Approach to an Ancient Greek Recipe)
  • Fish cooked in fig leaves
  • Lamb chops with pomegranate and herb sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds

Food Gathering

All the cooking techniques can be combined, depending on the season, with the gathering of wild greens that we will use in the hull, such us wild herbs, mushrooms, asparagus, etc.
Gathering and recognition of the species will be taught and supervised by an expert in the subject.
